چکیده
Abstract Background Thoracoscopic spine surgery is a form of minimally invasive primarily used to treat thoracic spinal disk herniation and stenosis via endoscopic discectomy decompression techniques, respectively. In contrast the lengthy recovery time related risks an open approach, this technique attempts limit tissue trauma while maintaining therapeutic efficacy. Thoracoscopies video-assisted thoracoscopy were first developed in early 1990s. Larger surgical instruments improved access foraminal pathologies made possible because Kambin's triangle. This triangle zone formed by exiting root anteriorly, traversing medially, superior end plate lower lumbar vertebra inferiorly. With development high-quality video imaging, small endoscopes, modified new instruments, has become choice for most transthoracic surgeries. Spinal biopsy procedures, discectomy, decompressive corpectomy, interbody fusions, internal fixations, debridement are now among indications thoracoscopic surgery. review will focus on assessing advantages limitations Conclusions with approach safe successful alternative traditional It significantly reduces morbidity associated procedures procedure's safety The applications continue grow as surgeons gain more experience procedure developed.

Cervical incision thoracic endoscopic surgery: a minimally invasive endoscopic approach in thoracic surgery.
Cervical incision thoracic surgery has recently been described. Currently, there is a move to increase the role of flexible endoscopy in surgery. The use of a flexible endoscope through a natural orifice into the thoracic cavity still remains ethically doubtful. The authors present a surgical experimental study using a flexible endoscope through a cervical incision for the exploration of both t...
متن کاملEndoscopic Endonasal Skull Base Surgery: Advantages, Limitations, and Our Techniques to Overcome Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage: Technical Note
In recent years, resections of midline skull base tumors have been conducted using endoscopic endonasal skull base (EESB) approaches. Nevertheless, many surgeons reported that cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage is still a major complication of these approaches. Here, we report the results of our 42 EESB surgeries and discuss the advantages and limits of this approach for resecting various types ...

Despite rapid developments in the research areas of medical imaging, medical image processing, and robotics, the use of computer assistance in surgical routine is still limited to diagnostics, surgical planning, and interventions on mostly rigid structures. In order to establish a computer-aided workflow from diagnosis to surgical treatment and follow-up, several proposals for computer-assisted...
متن کاملIndication and Limitations of Endoscopic Extended Transsphenoidal Surgery for Craniopharyngioma
The transsphenoidal approach has been utilized in intrasellar craniopharyngioma surgeries. However, the advent of endoscopic extended transsphenoidal approach (EETSA) has expanded its indication to suprasellar craniopharyngiomas. We compared the indication and limitations of EETSA to those of unilateral basal interhemispheric approach (UBIHA), which presents similar indications for surgery. We ...
